Susan Ives is the owner of Square 1 Internet Training and Consulting, which helps small businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations develop an Internet presence.

Susan is immediate past president of Alamo PC, the second largest personal computer user group in North America. She also teaches Alamo PC's Internet and web design classes and writes frequently for their magazine, the PC Alamode. She is a member of the Mayor's Technology Implementation Task Force, the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Technology Solutions Committee and the Advisory Board for the Palo Alto College multimedia program. She is an active member of the San Antonio Conservation Society (she runs the Dutch Chocolate Freeze ice cream booth in Clown Alley at Night in Old San Antonio), SalsaNet and the peaceCENTER.

A native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Susan has a degree in Political Science from Drew University. After working her way through Europe for several years, Susan was a copywriter for a Philadelphia advertising agency.

She spent 15 years in the army as a personnel and public affairs officer. Her assignments included the 101st Airborne Division, the Military District of Washington, Army Recruiting Command's advertising and sales promotion division and V Corps, in Frankfurt, Germany. Susan was the public affairs officer for repatriation of the Kurds into Northern Iraq, was the first officer to fly into the former Soviet republics as part of the humanitarian airlift and wrote the public affairs plan for the first U.S. mission into Bosnia.

She lives in San Antonio with her husband, John, and 20-year-old cat, Jane. In her spare time she reads obsessively, butchers Celtic music on her hammered dulcimer, gardens and cooks.
