RSBPA Profound Choice

In a world that cries out for God’s love and direction, life as a vowed religious is an exciting and challenging choice for those seeking lives of greater meaning and service.

However, young adults today -- as well as many older Catholics -- are unclear about what living a “consecrated life” actually means. They are uncertain about the expectations, implications and relevance of this lifestyle.

Continuing the Mission of Jesus

Photo Montage For 400 years -- since the Franciscan Fathers established Mission Ysleta in the wilderness of early Texas -- priests, sisters and brothers have lived the gospel life and ministered to the people, establishing and expanding an extensive network of:
  • parish and sacramental ministries
  • centers for spiritual growth and reflection
  • schools that now range from preschool to university level
  • hospitals and health care services
  • social and pastoral services for the marginalized and indigent.

Follow the links to the web pages of men and women religious here in San Antonio and across the world and you will begin to understand the importance and possibilities of this choice for today’s young people and for our society.
